York Days Has Something for Everyone!
An annual summer highlight enjoyed by countless residents and visitors in York is York Days – a fun-filled community event filled with activities designed to entertain folks of all ages.
This year’s key events include:
- Beach Cleanup with Green Maids – Friday, July 26. A community and conservation effort at Short Sands Beach to help make a positive impact on our environment. Participants will meet at the playground at 6 p.m. All cleanup supplies will be provided, but volunteers should bring their own gloves. Participants will also receive a temporary one-night parking pass, so they don’t have to pay for parking.
- York Days 5k – Sunday, July 28. The Annual York Days 5k Road Race is the fourth race in the Seacoast Road Race Series and benefits youth programming throughout York. Participants may pick up their race shirt and bib on race day at 7 a.m. with the race beginning at 8 a.m. sharp. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION! All registrations must be complete by July 26.
- Sand Castle Contest – Tuesday, July 30. This free event will take place at Short Sands Beach with all ages welcome. Registration is from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. with judging taking place at 1p.m. and awards presented at 2 p.m.
- Craft Fair – Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4. Shop from over 50 local vendors and crafters showcasing their amazing creations at this free event. Enjoy delicious food and drinks available for purchase, while the kids can have fun with giant lawn games, inflatable slides and entertainment.
- Fireworks – Sunday, August 4. Enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks in the night sky over York’s Short Sands beach around 9:00 p.m.
- National Night Out – Tuesday, August 6. This community-building event is designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and better places to live. Come out and meet local law enforcement officers, enjoy fun activities for all ages, and connect with your neighbors. There will be games, food, music, and more! National Night Out will take place at Bog Road Athletic Fields from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
