Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Operator

The Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for diagnosis, maintenance and repairs of Public Works vehicles, equipment, and attachments. This position is also responsible for a Plow Truck and a Plow/Salt route and other activities including general road repair, operating Heavy Equipment, and some carpentry and building maintenance when necessary. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Fleet Supervisor and or Public Works Foreman.

Equipment Operator

Under direction, the equipment operator performs a variety of maintenance and construction tasks; operates all trucks, excavator, dozer, bucket truck, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, front end loaders, street sweepers, rollers, compactors, tractors, roadside mowers, wood chippers, snowplows and snow removal equipment, various types of light equipment and hand tools as required, riding and walk-behind mowers, trimmers, chainsaws and other tools related to forestry and ground maintenance services.

Administration Assistant

Our hardworking team needs an organized, detail-oriented administrative assistant to help keep our department running smoothly and manage day-to-day office operations. Responsibilities in this key role include (but not limited to) answering calls and inquiries from the public; preparing and filing state documents; payroll management, accounts payable, sick and vacation time; and preparing various correspondence for the public on Public Works projects and activities. This position reports to the Director of Public Works and the Public Works Foreman and in collaboration with the members of the Public Works Department.

A high school diploma and at least three years of experience in general administrative or office work is required; experience or familiarity with public works desirable. Candidates should have experience and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Access). Hourly Salary Range: $20.79-$26.18.
