DPW Trucks “Getting Their Wings”
This week the mechanics at DPW are in full swing getting our all-season trucks ready for the coming winter storms.
Each heavy-duty truck is being outfitted with a headgear section on the front of the vehicle that supports and controls the front blade. On the right side of the truck is a fully functional wing plow that helps widen cleared areas off roadsides. Both the front blade and wing plow can be raised, lowered and angled from inside the cab to effectively move any accumulation of snow.
Plus, each is equipped with an automated salt spreader that helps ensure York roads will be open, safe and clear all winter long.
